Though there were sudden reminders from a Nicolas Sparks book the movie Barfi held on to its own with the endearing music, sprinkles of suspense and the comedy and tragedy that bollywood is well known for.
yes it's slow !! You don't see any hip shaking head banging music or any of the "wonder hero" action but Priyanka Chopra as an autistic girl is a must watch. The jumpy, childish, innocence and that SMILE..... beautiful!
Ranbir though has added his personality, brings back memories of Raj Kapoor in his black and white movies playing the poor, goody two-shoes role in the Charlie Chaplin style.
Subtle......
Moving..........
Feel good
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie and not once did I look at my watch to see if time is moving nor did I look around to catch people in the act of sleeping. I laughed, cried, smiled worried - did all the things that the director expected me to feel and experience and came away feeling good that such a sensitive topic was handled so beautifully and with so much respect.
kudos to the Barfi team!!
